TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Yesterday we were fortunate to experience an introductory self defence lesson by Glen Phillips from the Allen's Martial Arts Academy.
Glen worked with all our classes, from the pre-primary year two through to our year 5-7 group. Each session was appropriately pitched to the multi-aged group and had students engaged and having fun. He quickly gained students respect yet maintained a good sense of humour with them.
The lessons focused on listening skills and basic self defence, introducing students to various strategies to deal with attackers. There was a strong emphasis on respect, particularly respect to self.
I have no hesitation in recommending Glen for work with school groups. Students gained a lot from the session and the feedback received from other staff members has been equally positive.
Yours faithfully,
