January-February
January/ February
Welcome Back
We hope you all had a good holiday and didn’t eat too much over the Christmas/ new year break. The new dojo is up and running now so we expect to see everyone back in class and working hard. Sensei Glen would like everyone to work twice as hard this year so make it one of your goals to achieve more than you did last year. Good luck!
Thank you
Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to come and help out at the new dojo over the holidays. We really appreciate it and you should all have an extra sense of pride when entering the dojo.
Open Day
We will be holding an open day on Saturday the 26th of February to help promote the dojo and hopefully get some more students to join us. The open day will include a sausage sizzle and drinks, talks by the police and the State Emergency Services, famous Olympians signing autographs and giving life advice, a bouncy castle for 4-6 year olds, a milk stall by SunnyDale Dairy with samples of their fantastic flavoured milk as well as the normal kids classes and class photos. The Little Dragons class will start at 8:30 and go til 9:00, then we will have a class photo (so make sure you all bring your gi top with you even if you don’t wear it in class). After that there will be talks, a sausage sizzle and other attractions until 9:30. The kids class starts at the usual time of 10:00 (we will be taking photos straight away so don’t be late), finishing at 10:30, followed by a sausage sizzle and other attractions. Make sure you tell all your friends and get them to come along and join in the fun!
Lost Property
Please check that you have left nothing behind at the end of each class because otherwise the dojo looks untidy and your things may get lost.
Water Bottles
The weather is still quite hot so make sure you all remember to bring your water bottles to class. We now have a drink fountain so you can fill up your water bottles with cold water before class starts as well as drink holders for you to put your drink bottles in during class. Please note; the drink fountain is only for filling up drink bottles and not for drinking out of so make sure you remember to bring them.
Gradings
We have quite a few brown-belts going for their black-belts soon so make sure you wish them luck and don’t distract them when they’re training hard.
