Introduction Classes - Introduction to Zen Do Kai Freestyle and Martial Arts training, which includes: free trial period, overview of our grading system, class and timetable explanation.
Little Dragons –early learning program and life skills. Everything a parent would want their child to know. There are regular talks on topical themes and life skills. Topics covered in class include things like 'Stranger Danger', Bullying, Health and Wealth, Home-care and Self-care, and what to do in an emergency.

If there are other people around and you get grabbed yell "HE'S NOT MY DAD!". If no people around yell "FIRE!". Physical=strike eyes/bite/grab/struggle/yell/starfish. |
| February/August | Bullies | Defence stance-Verbal Judo (Stop! Leave me alone! I don't want to fight!). Grab = Take down. 1. School buddy/ mentor. 2. Stand up/ powen in numbers. 3. Talk to a teacher. 4. Talk to parents. Not to be a bully, sharing, not being bossy, playing nice, other people's feelings, road safety. |
| March/September | Play Safe | Emergency 000 - Know address, electricity - discuss dangers, Water Safety - pool/bath/sea/rivers, Fire drill - Stop, Drop, Cover and roll/ Get down low and go, go, go. Work sites - Out of bounds. |

| June/December | Home Care/Self Care | Home Care - Medicine, chemicals, clothes/toys, recycling, helping around the house, keeping your room tidy. Self Care - Washing, brushing your teeth/hair. |
White Belts - Character development program - Basic defence against punches or being grabbed, pad work, full explanation of a fitness and flexibility program, legal ramifications of using Martial Arts, introduction to philosophy of Martial Arts.
Yellow Belts - Basic defences against being kicked, plus punch defence drills and slight increase in fitness component.
Orange/Blue Belts - Mixed punch and kick defence drills plus sparring practice in a controlled and safe atmosphere to facilitate learning and confidence. Also includes pad work, kickboxing drills.
Green Belts - Introduction to foundation kata (theory), sparring, advanced kickboxing drills, pad work, multiple opponent defence, 8 angle attack defence, basic shoot wrestling (ground fighting).
Brown/Black Belts - Open hand sparring, ground fighting, advanced kata, reflex training and drill work for all requirements taught so far.
* Fitness and flexibility work gradually increases through each level.
Muay Thai – Thai boxing, the national sport of Thailand, which uses punches, kicks, elbows and knees to defeat an opponent.
Boxing – For improving foot and hand speed, reactive power, hand-eye co-ordination and agility using drills with pads, the heavy bag, the speed bag, as well as doing shadowboxing in front of a mirror and skipping.
Shoot-wrestling - Based on the techniques used in Brazilian Ju Jitsu, which effectively uses ground fighting tactics in self defence.
Note: techniques are taught throughout the Zen Do Kai syllabus.
